Looking for a Virginia Beach Veterinary Hospital? The staff at Birdneck Animal Hospital wants to welcome visitors to our practice and to our website. Come visit our hospital and find out why Dr. Wayne M. Johnson is consistently a top rated veterinarian in Virginia Beach. Our Virginia Beach animal clinic has been serving the Virginia Beach area under the ownership and direct supervision of Virgina Beach veterinarian Dr. Wayne M. Johnson since 2008. Dr. Johnson and our entire Virginia Beach veterinary hospital staff is fully dedicated to caring for pets with the utmost compassion and expertise. At Birdneck Animal Hospital, we understand that pet owners have a choice in selecting a Virginia Beach veterinarian, and that as a loving pet owner they feel responsible for choosing the best possible Virginia Beach veterinary clinic. Dr. Johnson and our whole staff feel that same sense of responsibility -- We strive to make both owners and pets feel secure and pleased with the care we provide here.
The number one goal at our practice is to offer the Virginia Beach community a veterinarian and animal clinic that merges cutting-edge veterinary care with superior customer service. We do not operate as "just another veterinary hospital" -- rather, we constantly seek to continue our staff's education on veterinary hospital techniques and on advances in veterinary medicine. We feel strongly that a constant expansion of knowledge about newly emerging veterinary knowledge and techniques will guarantee that no stone will go unturned in caring for treasured pets, no matter what the veterinary issue.
Pet exams at our Virginia Beach animal clinic are comprehensive. When Dr. Johnson examines pets, he looks at the coat, skin, eyes, ears, nose, throat, full mouth area, legs, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal system, urogenital system and neuromuscular system -- and then issues a "Pet Report Card." This report card will tell owners, in detail, how a pet's health is progressing in every area. If a pet needs any medications, owners will be given detailed written instructions about how and when to administer the medicine.
Whether a dog, a cat, or a reptile, Dr. Johnson and our staff at your Virginia Beach animal clinic are ready to care for any pet in the most comfortable environment (outside of their own home, of course!) possible. We recently opened a "feline only" room that is a dedicated space for cats. Since our feline friends are often apprehensive during exams, we have installed a feline pheromone dispenser in the room, which helps nervous cats relax quickly. Of course, we also keep our canine friends equally happy with their own dedicated exam rooms, and some treats (with an owner's permission) to help pets "make friends" with our doctor and office staff.
If a pet needs advanced diagnostic techniques, Dr. Johnson is skilled in the administration and interpretation of ultrasound and x-rays, and received post-graduate training in the areas of endoscopy, ultrasound and laser surgery. We at Birdneck Animal Hospital are proud to offer the best pet care in the Virginia Beach area! We encourage pet owners to give us a call or email us to schedule an appointment.
