Brooklyn Dude came into our lives through the Va Beach Animal Care & Adoption Center 341 S. Birdneck Rd where he had been waiting for his new family for 8 months. As a volunteer, his new Mom fell in love with him as he washed all the other kitties & purred in her arms while clipping his claws. He is such a loving, caring boy-the best Dad on the planet. Our sweet Dude suddenly got sick in March & we ran him to the Birdneck Animal Hospital. Everyone in that office took such good care of him. He had kidney stones & a blockage. They tried everything possible to help our Dude, starting with a special diet which failed but, took weeks to figure out. Dude needed not one but 2 surgeries done at once. We were thrilled that we had been using Dr Johnson since Dude's adoption, so we knew that he had the best of care. That also made the surgery choice easier, knowing he would be so well cared for. Our family has been through these types of problems before so we knew it was a hard surgery that after a few wks he would be good as new. During the complete treatment time 5-6 wks, there were many, many calls. Not once was I ever made to feel that they didn't have time to answer all my questions at length. The staff there are the best I've ever met, giving all the pets their attention as needed. I swear Dude told me the hugs were almost as good as mine. Dr Johnson came in on his day off to be sure our baby was progressing properly. This in & of itself doesn't come close to describing the level of care he got. In talking with the doc he made all his findings understandable & let us know all the pros & cons of each choice of treatment. The joy Dr Johnson & his staff showed when Dude finally made it to a good place could NOT have been faked, they care as much as we do for all our babies. I have never regretted recommending Birdneck Animal Hospital to the shelter adopters that have asked for the name of a vet, not one has come back to complain.
Each month, the staff at Birdneck Animal Hospital publicly acknowledge one our many wonderful patients by sharing their heartwarming story with others through our Pet of the Month. In addition, Birdneck Animal Hospital makes a donation, in the name of each of our Pets of the Month, to NOBLEPETS. What is NOBLEPETS?
Noblepets is a new branch of the Noblemen Organization that has been spearheaded by our very own Dr. Johnson. Dr. Johnson and the Noblemen have created this wonderful platform as a way to allow more individuals a way of giving back to the community, while at the same time publicly acknowledging your pet, and telling the world why your pet is noble. Monies raised through Noblepets go toward helping provide local children and veterans who are disabled with specially trained aid dogs to make their lives less difficult.
The Birdneck Noblepet Of The Month have their picture displayed on the Noblepet Wall of Honor at the Birdneck Animal Hospital, and have their photo as well as their story posted on the web sites of the Birdneck Animal Hospital and The Noblemen. Each owner also receives a T-shirt and car magnet announcing that their pet has been recognized as a Noblepet.
