Advanced Planning for Holiday Pet Boarding
Do you worry about your pets when you have friends watch them? Do you live far away from family that you used to trust to watch your pets when you were out of town for the holidays? Perhaps it's time to consider having your pet board at our veterinary hospital while you are away over the winter holidays.
Advantages to Pet Boarding at a Veterinary Hospital
Having your pet board at a veterinary hospital has several advantages. By choosing a veterinary hospital, you are leaving your beloved friend in the hands of people who care about pets and are experienced in providing quality care.
At a veterinary facility, pet owners can be confident that pets will be fed according to a regular schedule and have fresh water available at all times.
You will not have to worry about them sneaking outside and getting lost. And, you know that should there be a medical issue, there's a veterinarian on site to treat your pet.
Planning Ahead for Pet Boarding in Virginia Beach
At Birdneck Animal Hospital, our veterinarian recommends planning ahead if you intend to board your cat or dog during the holiday season. Most facilities have limited spaces and at our facility we reserve our boarding spots for our regular patients only. By restricting our boarding to our patients, we are able to provide the personalized boarding and care our patients are accustomed to receiving. Two months or more is not too early to make these arrangements, and the more time you can give the facility the better. It's also important for the health of all animals in the facility to make sure that your pet's vaccinations are up to date and that he or she is current on flea and tick medication prior to the boarding appointment.
